Not so bad

Yesterday I was watching my kids play in a kiddie pool. I was doing the typical parent thing and playing on my phone, keeping an ear out for drowning or fighting. I looked up to see Isaiah giddy. He had found a new toy to dunk in and out of the water....my iPad. Today my iPad was in a bowl of rice soaking in the rays of the sun, so maybe, just maybe it might turn on tomorrow. It rained...it rained a lot, the bowl was filled to the brim.

Worst weekend ever? nope. A pretty terrible weekend? Still no. It was a really good weekend. We played in the yard. We danced (Guardians of the globe soundtrack). They played on the slip and slide. We read book books and wrestled. Friday we went to a brewery, and the kids were so good. They danced on the little stage they have. They pet the dogs that were visiting. They delighted everyone in the building (note to future self, don't give Hope unlimited access to cheese puffs, she will eat until she literally gets sick...on the floor....of the brewery). Sarah and I are so blessed by these two.

Isaiah James Toledo

Isaiah
"Wash and make yourselves clean.
    Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
    stop doing wrong.
17 Learn to do right; seek justice.
    Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
    plead the case of the widow." - Isaiah 1:26-27

James
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." - James 1:27

"Be excellent to each other." - Bill S. Preston

Early Arrival

Sarah started having some contractions Sunday night. We didn't think it was the real show, but we got ready anyway. We went for a walk to help her along and to spend some time with Hope.

The walk didn't move things along far enough so we decided to go to sleep for the night. Sarah's water broke at 11:30, but we decided to keep sleeping. Her contractions had stopped by the morning. We took some pictures and sent Hope off to daycare.

We got some morning exercise to see if we could start the contractions back up, but did not have much luck. We were told to head to the hospital anyway. All day almost nothing happened. Around 5:30 things started to finally get moving.

Sarah did great! Just after 7:30 he had arrived. It was just as amazing as last time.

Hoped didn't really know how to feel at first.

She came around in the end.

Wave of babies!

Number 2 is locked and loaded. Hope is getting so big and she's had four adults giving her all the attention she could ever want. Come November we'll see how she does with someone else around who wants our attention. Currently she corners our cats and gives them kisses (and they mostly let her). She kisses every Panda Bear she sees whether stuffed or in a book. She will go through an entire pile of teddy bears and give each one a hug. Somehow, I think she has enough love to spare to be an older sister.

Daddy

My little monkey is learning more words every day. She is always practicing different sounds. This is my favorite word of all.

She Hulk

Her little personality keeps emerging! Nana got her this toy that she can pull apart and its become one of her favorites. When she trying to pull she makes one of my favorite faces ever. She is just so stinking cute.

She's a walkin'

This has been a year of change. New car, new computer, three new jobs (two for me and one for Sarah), new degree, and of course a new Hope. Anyone who has ever been around a baby knows its an insane wonderful thing to watch them grow. Every second seems like its a new thing. New sounds, new teeth, new foods, new expressions. This has been the busiest but most exciting time of my entire life. Of course things are about to get even crazier, because yeah....she's a walkin'...
